High Constitutional Court of Madagascar: Oath of new members

The new members of the HCC were officially installed after their swearing-in at a formal hearing on April 8, 2021.

Speaking on behalf of his peers, the dean of these new members Florent Rakotoarisoa pledged their commitment to respect the laws and the Constitution in the exercise of their functions. “A respect which will guarantee serenity and social peace for our country”, he stressed.

It is a first in the country that the new members of the HCC are welcomed and then inducted by the outgoing members of this high body.

In addition, these senior advisers whose term of office is 7 years non-renewable have 8 days to elect their president. It should be noted that this swearing-in ceremony took place in the presence of the President of the Republic Andry Rajoelina, Prime Minister Ntsay Christian as well as the two Presidents of Parliament.

Note that the High Constitutional Court of Madagascar has been a member of the CJCA since October 2014.
