Allocution Mr. Jean Ping President
Statement by Mr. Jean Ping President of the African Union at the opening ceremony of the Founding Congress of the Conference of African Constitutional Courts held in Algiers on 7 and 8 May 2011.
My thanks go to Algeria not only the initiator of this project but also to all member countries of the African Union.
The creation of this space is a major event and significant developments in that it contains fills a void and help dedicate the rule of law.
We must emphasize the important role of constitutional courts in defense of citizens’ rights in that they are the last defense against their violation.
