Visit of the President of the CCJA in France

 

The Secretary of State to the French Minister of Foreign Affairs, Jean-Baptiste Lemoyne, met on Friday, July 13 with Mogoeng Mogoeng, President of the Constitutional Court of South Africa and currently holds the presidency of the Conference of Jurisdictions African Constitutionals (CJCA).

 

This interview raised several challenges common to Europe and Africa, in terms of managing migration flows, strengthening the independence of the judiciary and the rule of law. In particular, the importance of good governance was emphasized to ensure inclusive development and to guarantee political stability over time.

The current political situation in South Africa and the major ongoing reforms were also discussed.
