Death of the President of the Constitutional Council of Senegal: Cheikh Tidiane Diakhate is no more!

The President of the Constitutional Council, Cheikh Tidiane Diakhate, died this Thursday, January 15, 2015 in Dakar, following a disease. The Constitutional Council loses one of its five “wise men”, and the judiciary one of its executives.

Sheikh Tidjane Diakhaté previously first President of the Dakar Court of Appeal was appointed Chairman of the Constitutional Council 13 August 2010 to replace Ms. Mireille Ndiaye, admitted to assert his pension rights. His career so far has been meteoric. Out of the famous National School of Administration and Magistracy (ENAM, Judicial) in 1977, he held the high office of the Attorney General at the Appeals Court, Advocate General at the Court of Cassation but above the post first president of the Court of Appeal in Dakar in 2004.
